Curriculum Night  - Wednesday, Sept 30, 2026

The most important event next week is Curriculum Night on Wednesday, September 30, where you will meet the teacher and hear about the program and curriculum for the year. We would prefer that this event be in person so that you could see the classroom and meet other parents, but the DOE has directed otherwise. In lieu of a personal meeting, we ask that you leave your camera on, if possible, and type your child's name in the Zoom after your own, e.g., Pat Carney (Grace). Your teacher will explain how to do so, and will send the Zoom link shortly.

The first Family Friday will be held on September 20 and you will have a chance to see your child's classroom. Here is the schedule for Curriculum Night. 

Pre-K and Kindergarten:  5:00 - 5:45

1st, 2nd, 3rd Grades:  5:45 - 6:30

4th and 5th Grades:  6:30-7:15

2026/2027 Report Cards

Report Cards

Your child will receive  three  report cards per year, which will be  available on your child’s NYCSA on  November 17,  March 1 and July 1. 

The report cards describe your child’s progress against standards. We view report cards as a vehicle to share your child’s strengths and challenges with you. We do not use them as a means to make children feel badly about themselves or inadequate in any way. Additionally, we do not use them to compare children, e.g., no “rank in class”.

Parent Conferences

Parent Conferences are held during the afternoon and evening of November 19 (not November 5) and March 3 over Zoom. Your child’s teacher will describe your child’s progress, explain strengths and challenges, and may give you suggestions about how to help your child at home. Your child’s teacher will send you an electronic sign up sheet at least two weeks before the conference. The Department of Education schedule permits about 15 minutes per conference.
