At PS 340 we are committed to involving our children in activities that help the community. We hope to develop the mindset that good neighbors reach out and help one another. To that end, we choose age-appropriate, local initiatives that involve the students in supporting our New York City neighbors.
In 2024/2025, we are excited to continue our partnership with City Harvest, Room to Grow, and Project Cicero.
City Harvest Canned Food Drive
Typically held the week before Thanksgiving break, the PTA organizes a food drive through a partnership with City Harvest, which is dedicated to helping feed the million-plus New Yorkers facing hunger. To learn more, visit https://www.cityharvest.org
Room to Grow Fall and Spring Cleaning Clothing and Toy Drives
The PTA partners with Room to Grow, an organization that is devoted to enriching the lives of babies and toddlers. We send gently used clothing and toys, once in the Fall and again in the Spring. Our Fall Drive this year will be in front of the school on Saturday, November 9. Please do not bring items to the school building prior to the day of the event.
